There are several options to add video content onto Yapster, however, for larger files, it is better to upload to Vimeo and then embed using URL.

For smaller video file sizes we recommend using the built-in functions of:

  • Upload directly from your phone or your computer - Choose video from library

  • Capture videos (1 min max.)

Direct from phone or computer

Here are the requirements to bear in mind when creating video/uploading from your device

  • A maximum file size of circa 20mb

  • A maximum length of two minute

  • .mp4 format only.

Embedding content using Vimeo

For larger videos, it is highly recommended to upload the content to Vimeo and embed the video in the post. Please note this platform will require you to have an account.

Once your video has been uploaded and converted using Vimeo, click the option to Embed. This will provide you with a code similar to the below screenshot.

Copy the highlighted URL, framed in speech marks and add to your post caption in Yapster.

You'll still be able to add a description of your video to the caption, and your video will display as your messages/posts thanks to the link.

Note:

  • A 60s holding screen is normal immediately after you post your video while the video transcodes.

  • When using Vimeo, you will need to ensure that your Privacy/Sharing settings are configured to at least select the "hide from vimeo: private on your account, but embeddable anywhere" option.
