How to load your HR data if you don't have an integrated HR connector

Although we do highly recommend using an automated HR feed, Yapster is configured so you can load your own HR data via CSV.

This allows you to export data via CSV from your HR system which can then be transformed and imported into Yapster on a daily basis.

In many cases, we can add to our automated daily import jobs once this has been built, but below shows you how to load if it is not an automated job.

What will importing users do?

  1. Add new joiners and

  2. Remove leavers

  3. Update for job transfers or promotions

Do I need to manipulate the CSV when exporting from the system?

No! As long as the CSV includes the data below, we can ignore additional data.

If you arent able to easily amend the column headers to those below we can create a transform to map the headers you upload to those we need.

Data that needs to be included in the CSV*

  • First name

  • Surname

  • Employee ID/Payroll ID

  • Email address

  • Job Title (optional but highly desirable)

  • Department (optional but highly desirable)

  • Location (up to 5) for example site, area, region, country, etc (optional but highly desirable)

  • Start date (optional)

  • Mobile number (optional)

Importing your Manual Data

Step 1: Click on Admin Console

  • (found by clicking into the sidebar accessed by clicking the icon in the top left corner; Cog or Snoozed Bell)

Step 2: Click on Bulk Actions

Step 3: Click on Import users from a CSV file

Step 4: Choose file and click deactivate users and disable empty groups and the click next

Step 5: Click apply

Please note that whilst the file is being processed, the status bar in the Past Actions, will go grey. If it is successful it will appear as green under actions as shown below.
