When you first login to Yapster you'll see some group chats that have been made automatically based on your role or location. These group chats are updated based on underlying HR data so should always include the correct participants - that includes adding new starters and removing leavers as well as staff transfers.
If a team member who you know has transferred sites is still in your location yap ask your manager to check that their move has been correctly processed in your HR system. Similarly, if a new starter doesn't have access to your location yap, your manager will be able to check that if they have been added to the system correctly.
Data updates are automated and run every 24 hours to ensure the correct people are in the right conversations for them.
Group conversations or yaps can also be made by clicking the red speech marks next to your assigned groups on the find tab.
If you're the owner of a group yap (or have admin access) and need to add/remove individuals:
head to the (i) icon once you've clicked into your conversation. This will give you a view of the addressees.
Head to the top right corner of the screen and click edit. Once here you'll see a select recipients screen.
The red crosses denote existing participants that you can remove from the chat, and the green + is used to show the groups you can add to the conversation.
Alternatively you can select an individual user by searching their name and either clicking the green + next to the individual profile, or if they need to be removed, clicking the red cross.
Once you've updated your participants make sure to click continue and finally, update.
You'll be able to check your actions by clicking the (i) where you'll see your participants on the updated addressees list.
If you're not the owner of the group yap, you'll still be able to click the (i) icon to view the current addressees.
This way you'll be able to find the owner of the group yap (denoted by an orange Owner banner on their profile picture). Why not send the owner a yap letting them know the changes they need to make to the conversation. โ๏ธ
