Find Tab ๐Ÿ”

As shown in the image, when you click on the Find Tab you will find all the directory groups that you are a part of assigned to in your company's HR data.

These fall into 3 categories:

  • Function Groups (e.g. Kitchen, Management, etc)

  • Location Groups (e.g. Camden, London, South East, etc)

  • Brand Groups (for multibrand organisations)

You will also see the Company Directory as seen by the ๐ŸŒŽ icon.

What is a Directory Group?

Everything you see once you've clicked the globe icon into your company directory is defined as a directory group.

These are made up of users (you and your colleagues) who are grouped together by location or Job function as seen in your HR system.

This makes addressing specific users easier - e.g. Using these groups to create targeted yaps so that information shared in these group yaps should be relevant to you.

Addressing Directory Groups

Clicking the red speech marks on the right side of the screen will create a conversation with everyone assigned to this location/role group. We call these group yaps.

  • Targeted Yap Examples include:

    • rotas posted in Cardiff Central yap (Location group)

    • cocktail masterclass sessions posted in Bartender yap (Role group).

If this speech mark is greyed out, or even missing, the number of participants is too large for you to create a conversation. If you think you should have the large conversation permission, talk to your administrator who will be able to give you this access.

Finding & Addressing Team Members in the Directory

You can search for someone by

  • their name,

    • The red speech mark on each separate profile will start an individual conversation, which we refer to as a 1:1 yap.

  • their location(s) or function(s) groups

    • Clicking directly on the group itself will show all of the individual members of these groups so you can find your colleagues - without having to share personal information๐Ÿ˜ƒ

*Please Note

Depending on your role and the size of your organisation, you may not be able to start cross-company conversations. This structure is applied to Yapster at your employer's discretion. The main benefit of this is that all conversations you're part of will remain relevant to you and your colleagues, instead of receiving updates and news that doesn't apply to you personally.
