Premium Integration: Reward Gateway Setup Guide

A step-by-step guide to set up your premium integration with Reward Gateway and Yapster

Levelling up from the Reward Gateway Standard SSO Yapplication, our friends at Reward Gateway have provided the following instructions to set up the premium integration.

This integration enables users to receive real-time notifications about Reward Gateway platform activity within Yapster.

It doesn't stop there! Blog announcements and recognition moments will be posted directly to the relevant Yapster newsfeed, where users will be encouraged to interact with the posts, as well as being able to access the original content in Reward Gateway by clicking the Yapster post. This is partly due to the SSO Yappliaction, so make sure that is set up, if it isnt already!

What you'll need for the guide:

  • Authentication credentials from Yapster (Needed in Step 3 so why not take a look quick look at this step ahead of running through the guide!)

  • Admin access on the Reward Gateway Platform


Step 1 - Enable the Integration

First things first, log into Reward Manager and navigate to the Integration Dashboard.

Under the Explore Integrations tab, search for Yapster.

Select the integration and use the toggle in the top right-hand side to turn On.


Step 2 - Initial Setup

Once you've enabled the integration, you'll need to name it so you can identify it in the future.

Click Continue to move on to the Authentication stage.


Step 3 - Authentication

You will need several details in order to authorise the integration between Reward Gateway and Yapster, without which Yapster cannot accept any content from Reward Gateway.

Click the button to contact Yapster, please include a request for the following details to authorise your integration:

  • Organisation ID (OrgID)

  • Authorisation ID (AuthID)

  • Authentication Secret (AuthSecret)

Once you've received these details from Yapster, you can input them on the Authorise stage of setup.

Click Continue to move to the next stage to Trigger the integration.


Step 4 - Select a Trigger

You'll now need to select a trigger from the drop down menu that will send information to your Yapster newsfeed.

Once you've selected your chosen trigger, you'll be able to test the integration on the Review page.


Step 5 - Review and Test the connection

Click Send a test Yapster message to test your integration.

Head to your Yapster newsfeed, where you should now see your test newsfeed post. Congratulations, your connection has been successful!


Step 6 - Publish your Reward Gateway Content to your Yapster Newsfeed

Once you're happy with your testing, click Publish to complete setup. As of now information from your Reward Gateway programme will be posted to your Yapster newsfeed when it matches your trigger. Happy posting!
