Your Yapster team talk about an import source when referring to HR connectors that we integrate with to collect your employee metadata.
Yapster will always attempt to complete work in order to automate your employee data updates via HR connectors. If this isn't possible, you can manually import your changes - the Support Team are ready to assist while you do this.
Multiple import sources are possible within Yapster, for example, if several sites sit on a different HR provider/ system than the rest of the company or you have distinct brands sitting under one parent organisation, however, there are a few things to consider:
employee-ids must be distinct across brands - any overlap will be completely broken (1 account where there should be multiple)
location-group-ids must be distinct across brands - any overlap will be completely broken (1 group where there should be multiple)
function-group-ids - are ideally harmonised across brands, if they are:
not harmonised but distinct - you get doubling up of function groups and confusion
not harmonised and overlapping - you get 1 group where you should have two and things are broken
If [1] and [2] are not distinct across brands, our team can address these cases by allowing an id prefix to be applied to each import-source.
All import source details need to be requested from your HR provider and forwarded to the Support Team.
Alternatively, you may want to use Yapster with one main automated import source, and one manual import to maintain contractors or suppliers as well as any team/Bot profiles that cannot be given profiles in your HR system.
