Yapster is your workplace communication platform and we want to ensure we are keeping you updated with your company news and comms but we also don't want to interrupt or distract you from work. You will be notified when it's directed at you but when it's not you will see in-app badges to see what is new.
Let's review Yapster notifications and when you should/ shouldn't get notifications.
You can always update or change your notification preferences and you can see how in this article.
Push notifications (pop up on your phone home screen)
If you haven't muted your notifications, you will receive push notifications when
You receive a 121 yap (the content of these messages will be displayed on your lock screen, and notifications will be stacked on top of each other).
You are @mentioned in a group yap or on the newsfeed.
There is a new message in one of your group yaps (the content of these messages will be displayed on your lock screen, and notifications will be stacked on top of each other).
An announcement post is shared on your company-wide news feed - even if you have muted your notifications, you will receive a push notification because this announcement contains an important update from your leadership team.
Non-push notifications (but the badge count does go up)
Normal newsfeed posts - we won't bother you every time there is a post on the newsfeed but you will see the app badge (app icon on your mobile) count go up on your phone.
Why don't I get these notifications?
