Why should adding a profile picture be encouraged?

Did you know that profile pictures are proven to increase team and management engagement? Leaders who have added a profile picture also receive significantly higher interactions with their newsfeed posts than those who have skipped this step in the onboarding process.

Company leaders are encouraged to upload a profile picture to add a personal aspect to their newsfeed posts. Employees feel closer to senior management and are more likely to go the extra mile when there's a sense of being part of one collective team. Knowing or recognising key members of the organisation is a significant part of this sense of one mission.

Although knowing or remembering the names of all colleagues across an organisation doesn't seem realistic, being able to match a face to a name in the directory makes a real difference to colleague interactions.

In a practical sense, being able to scroll through the company directory before you visit a local site for an area meeting or training day is a lovely personal touch when leading large teams.

The below images show how your profile will be viewed by others in-app, which clearly indicated why having a profile is much better than a grey icon. This is also why we've made this step an easy part of the onboarding process.

Users can always add or update their profile picture by heading to the settings cog in the top-left corner of the screen and clicking My Profile.

From there you'll see the Edit button

You can choose to add a picture from your camera roll, or take a selfie if you're feeling πŸ’―

Other Profile Recommendations:

Yapster allows you to contact and stay in touch with everyone in your team without having to exchange numbers or contact details, which protects your privacy.

At the same time, your profile picture along with a bio lets your teammates get to know you as an individual and helps foster a real sense of community within an organisation.
