Standard newsfeed notifications differ from @mention behaviour on the newsfeed.

When newsfeed posts are published that do not contain @mentions for certain users, users will not receive push notifications. Especially in large and active organisations, this is to protect users from receiving continuous noisy notifications for content that may not be relevant to them.

Users will receive a badge on their Yapster app on their home screen. This acts as a reminder that there is now content to be consumed - but is not urgent or an announcement post.

Users already within the app when new content is posted to the newsfeed will receive an activity dot on the news tab to signpost a new post.
