How you can use Yapster's functionalities to encourage career progression

You can use Yapster as a great tool to use in order to advertise internal vacancies and promote career development.

Within your company directory, you have access to all of your staff, split and organised perfectly by role and location.

This article will cover how to:

  • send targeted yaps to an audience relevant to a specific role within the context of internal recruitment.

This article may be relevant to leaders in:

  • HR

  • Recruitment

  • Senior Team

The scenario used throughout this article is:

  • You are looking for a Head Chef for a new site opening in London Canary Wharf.

Who could be interested internally?

  • Other head chefs in the organisation wanting to relocate;

  • all other chef roles looking for career progression.

How do we select these users specifically?

  • When creating your yap, search your directory for the roles that have a realistic chance of success when applying for the advertised job:

    • head chef

    • sous chef

    • line chef

    • training chef

Once you're happy with your role selection, click the green Venn diagram to create a filter.

Type the general location of the position to locate close branches.

Users who already work in these sites are likely to be interested in the news of a new role nearby.

Remember to save your filter and do this for each separate role.

Once you've added a clear title to your yap you'll then have direct access to all realistic internal candidates.

Why not: toggle the disable replies option on the yap details page?

This creates a broadcast yap. Your opening message can then explain that more details can be found by yapping you directly. This also protects your teams from more noisy yaps they may not need.
