Yaps

  • Yapster Welcome Message

You will be welcomed in a 1:1 yap by the Guide Dog Profile with a custom message from your company explaining their vision for your new communication tool.

(Please note, this profile is not monitored, the best way to get help is to visit https://guide.yapster.dog/en/ or email support@yapster.info.)

  • Auto Yaps

Thanks to Yapster's smart integrations with HR connectors, some group yaps are automatically created to to establish immediate lines of communication.

These automatic yaps are made based on role and locations and are "owned" by Yapster Bot or Guide Dog - an admin profile.

  • Location yaps contains every user assigned to a specific location in your HR data.

  • Role yaps contain every user assigned to a specific job role in you HR data.

These autoyaps are refreshed every day after our data imports. This means that new starters, leavers and internal movement changes are reflected in your yaps within 24 hours and the correct team members will always be in your group yap. Here's how to manage auto-yaps.

  • Other Communication Channels

Any further group yaps you have in your inbox are created based on prior communication channels. Get in touch with your administrator if you would like certain group chats created within your team but don't want the hassle of being the "owner".

You may also be part of any custom chats created by individual users. Here's how to manage chats.

Can new participants see past messages when added to a group yap?

YES! = Users added to yaps will be able to scroll up to read past messages.

All content since the creation of the conversation will be visible to newly-added participants, so users will have access to important updates and announcements.

TOP TIP: here's how to quote your message to remind users of questions already answered earlier in the chat.

Newsfeed Posts

Any user onboarding to Yapster for the first time will see 10 of the most recent newsfeed posts in chronological order.

Multi-timeline users will see 10 posts per newsfeed. Scrolling to the bottom of your newsfeed view will display the oldest newsfeed post.

This is done to increase team cohesion right off the bat!

They will also be greeted with an announcement from us, introducing the platform. More on our Welcome messages can be found here.
